We welcome KIM MASELLI to the Tu Tu Thin Podcast. She is the President & Artistic Director for the Pacific Festival Ballet received her early dance training from her mother, Joyce Hurley. At age 16, she was accepted to the Washington School of Ballet where she gained her first professional stage experience. She was awarded a full scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet in New York City where she trained and performed with the Joffrey Concert Group. With one season at the Louisville Ballet, she became a member of the American Ballet Theatre Il under the direction of Richard Englund. She spent two years
performing and touring the United States until she moved to Los Angeles and joined the Los Angeles Ballet. Ms.Maselli has appeared in numerous television specials including Mikhail Baryshnikov's Baryshnikov in Hollywood, The 1982 Emmy Awards, The Young and the Restless and Star Search. She was also a regular for four years on
the hit TV series. Fame, which included tours in England. Europe and Israel. She made her feature film debut in 1084 as a dancer in Girls lust Want to Have fun. Her classical career continued as a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Ballet from 1984 through 1990. A talented and innovative choreographer, she has choreographed work
for Star Search, Disney's Youno Musicians at the Hollvwood Bowl and the CBS sitcom. Babvtalk! Industrials include Childhelp USA and the American Spirit Team in Tokvo. Japan. In the classical arena, she has staged full-scale productions of Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, and Romeo and Juliet. Ms.
Masell's original ballets include Heaven & Hell.….the Journey, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, and The Secret Garden. Most recent are collaborations with composer, Eric Allaman, The Sea Princess (2007 & 2013) and Noah's Ark
(2010, 2012 & 2017) This artistic team is excited to premiere their third full length original ballet, Camelot in May 2018. In 2001, 2009 and 2016, Ms. Maselli and her pre-professional dancers were invited to perform at the Tanzsommer Dance Festival in Austria. Ms. Maselli is an ABT Certified Teacher and in 2011, participated in the
Teacher's Conference at the Juilliard School in New York City. Ms. Maselli thanks God for her passion and ability to train the upcoming generation of dancers at the California Dance Theatre which is celebrating its 31st year!
