In celebration of Pride in London, Glyn hosts a special live episode of We Can Be Heroes from Shoreditch House. This episode is about icons as he welcomes Princess Julia and Danielle St James to tell their stories of growth and self discovery.
Princess Julia is a DJ and writer who has been at the forefront of the underground clubbing scene. From The Blitz in the 80s, to The Glory in the present day, Princess Julia has been a source of inspiration and support for the most creative people to come out of the UK. Over four decades, she has, and will continue, to be a muse for artists, designers, drag queens. Through her work, she continues to uplift the queer community and beyond.
Danielle St James is the founder of Not a Phase, which supports the lives of trans+ adults across the UK. Dani came out as transgender in her teens and has since gone on to become a trans icon. Her empathy for others is as prominent as her drive to make chance to increase the support of the trans community. She has an honest conversation with Glyn about her struggles with addiction and how she found herself through helping others. The support of her family, including her dad who was a Blitz club regular, gave her the foundations for self-discovery which grew into becoming a trailblazer.
