077: Why I Don’t Work In The Office Work from home is a norm for us. For obvious reasons, working from home helps me save costs. Office spaces in Singapore can be expensive. 💸 But, why I am a strong advocate of working from home is because I hire creatives and millennials. We all know millennials have their own way of thinking. Their generation is independent and have their own ideals. Forcing them into a 9-5 job in a boring office space stunts their creativity. I don't want that. ❌ For creatives, idea pops in anytime, anywhere and I don't want them to keep it in until they've reached the office. If they feel the inspiration come on, I want to give them the freedom to act on it immediately. The productivity has never been an issue for me or my staff. Your dream customer is an individual whom you're willing to help and value-add unconditionally. 2️⃣ Secondly, you've got to figure out your dream customers' pain and pleasure. Everyone has pains and pleasures in their life. When you create content that target their pains and pleasures, it makes them feel like you understand them. They will be more inclined to buy from you. 3️⃣ Finally, you have to create a lead magnet. A lead magnet is something you give away for free in exchange for their contact details. The thing about most products is that your customers' perceived value of it can help justify the price. It's the reason why everyone pays so much for an iPhone. But I understand that not everyone can market their product so well from the start. So, you've just got to create an offer. Your product is one thing, but if you bundle other things into your product, it will increase it's perceived value. 💰 Say you're selling your services as a fitness trainer. There are tons of competitors out there so what you have to do is improve your offer. Right now, you're only offering your services, same as everyone else. Add more. Throw in a week's worth of meal prep recipes, a PDF document on how to do several exercises and an exclusive gym t-shirt with your branding. If you and another fitness trainer are available for the same price, people will definitely pick you for the extra perks. Next, you gotta create content to build up your personal brand. People buy from PEOPLE, not brands. Will you be the successful one? It's not that they lack the desire or the drive. They simply lack the effort to follow through on their desires. You see, I have hosted many webinars and seminars. The first type of person would probably see the event happening but won't bother to attend. The second type of person would aim to attend the event but back out on the day itself. The third type of person would attend my event. They come to me and aim to gain as much knowledge as possible to grow their business. They're so excited and I'm happy to help. However, they never follow through. They don't even start! Not because they don't want it enough but they learn so much and end up overwhelmed, not taking any action. 066: Creating Winning Facebook Ads In 2020 I've been running an agency for four years now and I have invested my fair share of cash into Facebook ads. Did it always work for me? Not really 😅 But I've picked up a lot of strategies along my four years and one thing you have to understand is you have cold, warm and hot traffic. 🔵 Cold traffic are people who don't know about you and don't know that they have a problem. It's your job to open their eyes to what kind of problem they have first. That should be the point of your ad. 🟡 Warm traffic are people who know they have a problem, but don't know who to go to for help. Your ads should then be talking about how you can help. 🔴 Finally, hot traffic are people who know they have a problem and know that you are the solution to their problem. Your ads should then be making it easy for them to approach you and purchase your service/product. Create your ads based on which temperature traffic you're targeting. It's best to have three different kinds to target all of them. 🚦 Also, you've got to work on your personal branding. People buy from people, not brands. In this digital world, people are the most connected but disconnected they’ve ever been, so they crave connection. And it’s really difficult to feel connected and loyalty towards a brand that they just see as a corporation. Therefore, I've come up with 3 quick tips that will help you build your personal branding online. It’s time you re-evaluated your personal branding Position your brand Pick a market you want to be known for. Nobody is an expert at everything. If you’re the Jack of all trades, you’re also the master of none and nobody will look towards a person who is mediocre at everything when they need help. They will go to the most qualified and wise person in that specific field. Go in-depth. Sure, you’re in the finance market but there are many aspects to it. Are you doing insurance? Insurance itself, is also very broad. Go deeper. Let’s say you position yourself as an insurance agent who specialises in plans ONLY for pregnancies and infants. See how that just adds to your credibility and knowledge in this subject matter? 🎓 They say, the best restaurant serves only ONE dish. Start planning and putting out content The number one excuse for most people is that they don’t know what content to put out. To that, I only have one simple advice - look around you We’re living in a digital world. Content is being put out every single day. Just look online and study what other people are doing. But Wilson… isn’t this stealing? It is… if you just put out the same content. Make it 1% better. Add your own personality, thoughts and opinions to it. You see, nothing is ever 100% original now. Content is always built on other content. Build your own content on other people’s content. Create a system It’s going to be difficult to put out consistent content…unless you create a system. In the world of social media, you are always forgettable and replaceable. The only way to stay relevant is to keep posting. Keep appearing in people’s feeds! There are three points that you have to understand when establishing your personal brand. The first point is to find a positioning. When you go out and introduce yourself on the internet, you have to have something in mind. Are you a magician? Are you an insurance agent? Before you brand yourself, find your identity. The Japanese concept called "Ikigai" is good for that. Next, you've got to understand The Blue Ocean concept. We are all fishing in the same ocean; fighting for customers in the same industry. Remove yourself from the competition and go niche. Make yourself an expert that only provides one thing and make sure you're damn good at it. When you're the best of the best in a niche field, people will go to you. Finally, you can create a system to create content.
