465. The Secret Language of the Body
Manage episode 433738915 series 2428258
Push it down and power through. That’s how many of us have become high-achievers. But that’s also how many of us have developed physical and emotional unwellness. Our guests on the show today explain how to reconnect with our bodies to achieve more for internal selves.
Today we’re joined by Jennifer Mann and Karden Rabin, co-authors of “The Secret Language of the Body.” They tell us their personal journeys of being high-achievers, but struggling with fatigue and illness, to being happy, healthier individuals. The key, they share, is tuning into the secret language of the body.
The secret language of the body is sensations, emotions, behaviors, postures, movements, gestures, etc. Jennifer and Karden encourage us to bring awareness to that language, interrupt our typical negative response to it, and redesign a new response. Taking the responsibility to redesign our response is hard, they admit, but it opens up so many beautiful, powerful possibilities.
