Welcome along to another episode of the Agegroup Multisport Podcast. on this episode we cross once again to the USA and speak to Crystal Holick.
Crystal, grew up dancing as a kid, her favourite was tap. Although not a sport, it was to prove effective in laying down a good base for her fitness in later years.
Crystal was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, she was told it would be chronic. Refusing to simply accept it, she began making changes to her health and fitness regimen – she started running and biking, when an injury forced her into the pool she taught herself to swim and after a conversation with her friends was persuaded to enter and train for a triathlon. After getting her first one under her belt she got the bug and now an accomplished athlete, she has represented the USA over at the world champs in Abu Dhabi earlier this year.

Since she began training and competing, Crystals own health has improved. Her “chronic” autoimmune disease is now in remission. She has learned the importance of believing that she can, and she hopes to share and model that lesson for others.

Since competing in her first sprint triathlon in June 2017, she has learned how to improve at every event, finishing an Olympic distance triathlon only a year later. crystal, who has qualified for USA Triathlon’s Age Group National Championships on several occasions, has also completed the Ironman triathlon in Lake Placid, .

Crystal says her story is not that of an individual who was told she could not. Rather, it was one of someone who was never told she could.
I hope you are inspired by Crystals Journey, for she is another woman who can.
