Remembering the experiences of our childhood selves may bring up a range of emotions; it may be happiness or, unfortunately, for others, grief trauma. When the painful memories of the past still bother you, they can trigger a negative and unhealthy response. To teach us how to heal and move through struggles, we have the owner and the creator of the Angie Berrett Movement, Angela Berrett, in our podcast.

With all her experiences, this episode will be about how to deal with mental health issues through a form of play! Angela will be explaining visualizations of how we can understand how both our brain and body function. Listen to this podcast to learn more about dealing with your childhood or past traumas in a gentle manner!

Episode Highlights:

  • How eating disorders can be used to make us feel in control and act as a way to try and handle anxiety
  • How the mammals' pre-wired connection for play can help to ease anxiety
  • How the Hand Brain Model is a visualization to understand how our brain functions under anxiety or stress
  • What can games like Red Light and Green Lights do to awaken the fight-or-flight energy of our brains?
  • When can sensory activities such as swaying or wiggling your toes be helpful to know you are in control?
