Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Most mixes I create are typically inspired by a single song that I hear and feel strongly about creating a themed mix around. This one, however, has two sources of inspiration.
First, I stumbled upon the dreamy, hazy and romantic style of a band called Cigarettes After Sex (the name beats me!). They became an instant favorite and their song Falling in Love was crying out to be the star of a mix. A little after that, Hans Zimmer and co. mesmerized me in the emotionally epic soundtrack to the Netflix original film Hillbilly Elegy. This mix begins and ends with music from the soundtrack, which gives it a particularly high note to end on that I hope would leave you with a lingering sense of love and hope.
