In this episode, I am joined by the brilliant Nicole Cruz, a registered dietitian specializing in intuitive eating and family nutrition.
Shes teaches that creating a healthy relationship with food is essential for children.
Nicole's shares her experiences with motherhood, including her 3 birth stories.
We discuss how it's important to provide structure while allowing children to trust their bodies. Also, language around food can create guilt and shame in children, which is not the goal. Nicole shares her approach to feeding children, and the importance of fostering a healthy relationship with food. Nicole shares insights on common parental concerns regarding children's eating habits, the significance of transparency in nutrition, that it's normal for children's eating habits can fluctuate.
The conversation emphasizes the need for structure and support in children's eating while allowing them to develop their intuitive eating skills.
Finally, Nicole shares how motherhood taught her 2 beautiful lessons: 1) the power of repair and 2) the illusion of control.
