According to CDC, approximately 1 in 4 women and nearly 1 in 10 men have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime. Moreover, more than 43 million women and 38 million men experienced psychological aggression by an intimate partner in their lifetime.** Being at home because of the pandemic makes it worse because normal protective orders and fleeing a situation could provide relief. But, if stay-at-home orders are in place, some may be stuck in very dangerous situations.

It is my goal to increase awareness of the characteristics of domestic abuse or (IPV) and provide a few resources that one can use to get help. It is not all-inclusive, but a great start to a wealth of tremendous research. What I found to be amazing is that when I went on www.thehotline.org, it provided a way for me to delete my search history for protection. I am impressed. I also got resources from https://txabusehotline.org and https://www.samhsa.gov/. I hope you find this information useful to get help or provide help for someone who is in trouble.
