HAPPY NEW YEAR, mamas!!!! Wow! And it’s already a week in - how does this keep happening?!?! Has your year been off to a good start? Anyone else ready for school to begin?? (Our hands are raised.)

Today’s episode we are chatting about 2018, and looking ahead to 2019. Who has made resolutions or goals for the upcoming year? We talk about what ours were a year ago (and how we did 😳), and what we would like to work on this year. If you remember from episode 16 one year ago, we talked about words we wanted to focus on. And we chat today about if those words actually ended up being a theme for us throughout the year. So much new year-sy stuff today!

Jennifer mentioned the book, Living Forward: A Proven Plan to Stop Drifting and Get the Life You Want by Michael Hyatt and Daniel Harkavy that her Nathan has read. And Courtney talked about the book, Margin by Richard Swenson. We also mentioned The Next Right Thing podcast by Emily P. Freeman, which we’ve talked about before!

We also spend some time in this episode talking about the one significant thing that happened in our homes this past year. You’re gonna have to listen to see what each of ours is! 😜 Courtney referenced the book, Make Something Good Today: A Memoir by Erin & Ben Napier, and Jennifer mentioned the books, The Connected Child by Karyn Purvis and Beyond Consequences, Logic, and Control by Heather T. Forbes. We also want to remind you to check out Episode 25: A Discussion on Foster Care with Special Guest Katie Finklea if you haven’t listened yet!

From our “I’m Totally Into…” segment:

Courtney is totally into Madewell’s Gemline Studs. And make sure you sign up to be a Madewell Insider!

Jennifer (and her whole family) is totally into Mary Poppins Returns (here’s the CD! Go see the movie! Follow it on Instagram!) The music is. so. good.

And don’t forget that we are reading There’s No Such Thing As Bad Weather by Linda Akeson McGurk. The episode to discuss it will be January 28th!

We would love to hear from you about your New Year’s rhythm! Do you reflect on the past year? Do you make resolutions or new goals? Do you involve your family or is it a personal journey? Send any tips you may have for a fresh start our way! And have a great week, mamas!
