Die Ausstellung ist zwar schon Geschichte, aber man kann sie noch hören: Kommt mit auf eine Audioführung durch die Pestausstellung und folgt den Spuren der Seuche durch die Zeiten.
Verschwörungsmythen sind ein ständiger Begleiter von Seuchen - nicht erst in der Gegenwart. Wir werfen ein Blick auf historische Verschwörungserzählungen und sprechen mit dem Religionswissenschaftler und Antisemitismusbeauftragten Dr. Michael Blume über die zugrundeliegenden Strukturen.
Der Bedrohung durch die Pest setzten manche Orte folgenreiche Gelübde entgegen, die bis heute nachwirken. Wir sprechen mit Pfarrer Markus Lerchl, der die Binger Wallfahrt organisiert und mit Jesus - bzw seinem Darsteller bei den Passionsspielen Oberammergau, Frederik Mayet.
Bis heute spielt die Pest eine wichtige Rolle in historischen Romanen, Filmen und sogar Computerspielen. Wir gehen mit dem Game Director von "A Plague Tale" Kevin Choteau und mit der Fantasyautorin Klara Bellis den Ursachen nach, warum die Pest immer noch so fasziniert.
In dieser Folge versuchen wir uns an einem 500 Jahre alten Pestgebräu, begeben uns auf die Spur der Wittenberger Alchemisten und fragen, ob Zucker uns heute noch beim Kampf gegen die Pest helfen kann.
Woher kam die Pest? Wie alt ist sie? Wie kann man ihren Ursprung überhaupt nachweisen? Und gibt es die Pest eigentlich heute noch? Mit dem Archäogenetiker Ben Krause-Kyora gehen wir auf Spurensuche.
In der ersten Folge des Pestilenz-Podcasts geht es um Pestschinken, Pestmütter und blaue Funken. Mit der Europäischen Ethnologin Alexa Waschkau sprechen wir über die Pest in Sage und Märchen und fragen uns, was uns damit heutzutage noch verbindet.
