Why?🤔

It’s a question we have all been asking since we first learned to talk.👄

Our naturally inquisitive minds🧠 want to know why things are the way they are, why we feel the way we feel and why people do the things they do.

This week on Episode #70 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are using that question to ask why we are grateful.🙏

All this month, we have focused on our gratitude practice, how to strengthen 💪 it and how our gratitude is affected when we compare ourselves to others.

But asking why we are grateful for the people, places and things in our lives allows us to dive even deeper into our gratitude practice.

And it’s as simple as having a conversation with ourselves:

Why am I grateful for my dog?

Well, she shows me unconditional love, and she forces me to get outside and be active.

Why am I grateful for unconditional love?

Because it lifts my spirits when I’m feeling down and releases endorphins that make me feel good.

Why am I grateful that it lifts my spirits?

Because I have been through a phase of my life where I felt down in the dumps all the time, and I know how hard it can be to pull yourself up again.

Why am I grateful that she forces me to go outside?

Because it’s good for my health to be active and outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

Why am I grateful for the health benefits?

Because it increases my likelihood of a long and active life with my family with a reduced chance of health problems in the long run.

You see, the conversation can go on and on and on…

There really is no limit to reasons to feel gratitude. All you have to do is stop, take a look around and ask WHY?
