Dr. Gokani truly embodies integrative medicine. A traditionally trained neurologist she eventually became integrative in her practice. In particular, she founded a revolutionary integrative approach to treating headache pain by patients identifying the disconnect between the mind and the body. Dr. Gokani helps patients understand the “purpose” of their pain and how to heal themselves through a deeper appreciation of the mind-body-spirit connection. She also weaves Ayurveda into her work. And I must say, this is the first time Ayurveda started to make sense to me as Dr. Gokani discussed it here. Perhaps informed by her ethnic heritage, Dr. Gokani uses food as medicine. But her facility with combining western and cultural practices is much more than the sum of its parts. You are in for a treat here.
