The Mental Health Unit Failed My Dad...
Manage episode 269298140 series 2775096
Here's an interview I gave back in November for Maytree. I'm hoping this interview offers some value to you in two ways, through my honesty in the interview but also as an introduction into the amazing work that the Maytree do.
Since giving this interview I reflected on how my Dad would've probably benefited from something like the Maytree, rather than being sectioned and spending time in a mental health unit on the NHS. If I'm honest, and this isn't true for every unit, the environment within these units really aren't beneficial for people struggling with mental health.
In this interview we talk a little bit about the work they do at the Maytree, I discuss how my Dad being treated differently could have created a different outcome and also what he meant to me.
Hopefully it helps!

A rating and a review always helps a Podcast get more exposure too, so if you have a minute spare, I'd truly appreciate it!
Together, let's stand up to the stigma.
