MARTIN BRETTENTHALER | CEO at SWISS KRONO GROUP / Chairman of the European Panel
Martin Brettenthaler (born 1970) is the CEO of SWISS KRONO Group, a leading family-owned laminate flooring and wood-based panel producer headquartered in Switzerland. With ten production facilities in eight countries and sales around the world, the Group employs 5’100 employees and generates a turnover of appr. EUR 2.3 billion in 2021/22. Prior to becoming SWISS KRONO’s CEO in
2016, he has been leading the wood-fibre insulation producer Pavatex and had been COO of HIAG Group before that. After his studies in St. Gallen and Paris he had started his career as management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in Munich and Paris. Since 2021 he also has been serving as Chairman of the European Panel Federation (EPF) that represents the interests of the industry on the
European level. Martin Brettenthaler strongly believes in the important role that the wood-based panel industry can play as a role model for sustainability in the decarbonization of Europe’s manufacturing industry. A married father of three daughters he lives with his family near Basel, Switzerland, and
enjoys running and playing golf and chess.
