We are proud to share this as our 100th episode of the Someone To Tell It To Podcast. This very special episode was first aired in July 2020. Dr, Mary Frances Berry was our guest. Dr. Berry is a civil rights icon. In our conversation with her we heard stories of her experiences with visionaries and prophets such as the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther and Loretta Scott King, world leaders such as Nelson and Winnie Mandela, and sports superstars such as Arthur Ashe, all icons in their own rights, like Dr, Berry. She is a historian, writer, lawyer, activist, professor, and was a university provost and chancellor. She also served with distinction in the United States government under five presidents - Jimmy Carter through George W. Bush - including as the chairperson of the United States Commission on Civil Rights. We felt incredibly privileged to have had this illuminating conversation with her. Dr. Berry spoke of serious and timely issues, especially about the rights and experiences of people who were historically marginalized in society. She also spoke with humor and passion. We loved this conversation and will always be grateful to her for gracing our platform with her presence, values, and vision for a better world. This is an episode of which we are deeply proud. So, during this Black History Month, we want to offer it to our audience again. Dr. Berry’s words and life are a testament to all those who have dedicated their lives to bringing about a world in which everyone is valued, everyone is equal in their humanity, and everyone is given the same opportunities to live a meaningful and good life.
