Today is all about addiction in families and families of addicts. More specifically, we'll be focusing on the role of families in maintaining addiction, mistakes families of addicts make as well as whether or not addiction is a family disease.

Codependency also commonly occurs when addiction in families is present.

A lot of times when there is addiction present in families, they are encouraged to attend AA, NA, CA, GA, or AlANON. These abbreviations are anonymous groups designed to provide insight and coping skills for both the struggling individual and family members of those struggling with addiction.
