On today’s episode of UFC Unfiltered, Jim Norton and Matt Serra are joined by a boxer-turned-promoter in Anthony Sims Jr.

With no UFC card from over the weekend, Jim and Matt begin the show by catching up with each other and unpacking what to make of Jamahal Hill’s decision to quickly turnaround from his knockout loss at UFC 300 with a fight scheduled for International Fight Week on this June’s UFC 303 card against Khalil Rountree Jr.

When super middleweight boxer Anthony Sims Jr. calls in the show, the 29-year-old former titleholder begins by sharing how his background in karate and humble beginnings as a kickboxer gave him appreciation for the degree of difficulty in MMA.

After discussing the status of his own boxing career, the Indianapolis 29-year-old former titleholder shares the inspiring thought process behind his decision to establish his own promotional company for local midwestern boxers in need of fights, with Sims Jr. explaining that he hopes to see a day where boxing fans can respect fighters coming off a loss the way UFC fans do.
