Hey, Sister-friend 👋🏽

Trauma survivors develop controlling behaviors as a coping mechanism to regain a sense of safety, security, and control over their environment following experiences of trauma.

If you find that you can’t help but control others and things or people have told you you’re so controlling, I know that on one level, that hurts, but on the other hand, you just don’t know how else to survive. And that’s the thing, traumatized people see controlling as a survival mechanism

While controlling behaviors may provide a temporary sense of relief or security for trauma survivors, this behaviour can strain or even destroy your relationships. Whether it's a romantic relationship, friendship, or professional partnership, controlling actions can erode trust and lead to resentment and conflict.

In this episode, I provide an understanding of where the controlling behaviours come from, and steps to begin changing and healing.

I hope this episode blesses you.

In Healing and Love 😊

Jenniel
