Dr Geri McLeod is a senior research fellow in the Otago University’s Department of Psychological Medicine, and recently published findings around supplements, which she describes as expensive wees. She chatted with Penny around medical misogyny, the predatory nature of some supplement companies, the lack of evidence into their efficacy but also the appallingly low funding for study of women's/trans health & menopause. A researcher for the Christchurch Health and Development Longitudinal Study, Dr McLeod, has also discovered links between childhood abuse and early menopause. Oh and she shares with Penny the reason medicines were never tested on women at all and spolier; it's ****** annoying.

TW/CW: Childhood sexual abuse.
