In this episode, I'm chatting with Eve Hermann, a bodywork therapist trained in massage therapy, somatic experiencing, transforming touch, and craniosacral therapy. She has been in practice since 2007. She uses presence, informed light touch and guided awareness to assist her clients in easing into the present moment, releasing held energy from trauma and stress so they can live the lives they hope for.
In this episode you'll learn:

  • The disconnection to the wisdom and messages of our body that can happen as a result of unresolved trauma
  • Why pain is often a gateway to doing somatic based therapies
  • The Somatic Experiencing approach to working with pain signals from the body
  • Why it’s just as important to focus on the pleasurable parts of ourselves as it is the parts that are painful
  • On overview of the Somatic Experiencing modality for trauma healing
  • Top down vs. bottom up work and why one is better for implicit memories

A radical mother is a woman poised in her power ready to disrupt cycles of generational trauma running through her family like wildfire. She's working to improve her life, the lives of her children, and shape the landscape of her community. If that's you - you're in the right place.
This podcast is designed to connect you with resources, inspiration, and the reminder that you are not alone as you embark on your journey of radical mothering.
I’m your host Christa Bevan and I’m a nervous system educator for cycle breaker moms as well as a certified TRE (trauma releasing exercises) provider, and a trauma-informed yoga instructor. And of course, a fellow Radical Mother. My approach to this work blends neuroscience backed tools and heart-centered intuition.
