Dr. Jeanette Gallagher welcomes Dr. Sarah Lutterodt, author of Worlds Apart: A Memoir of Uncertain Belonging, to share her life story of human engagement over the decades.
Do we take our judgements and see others through them or can we become open and allow others to show us their world while honoring their story?
Sarah shares her stories from engaging with many people while traversing continents to find a place of security and safety as a biracial woman. What she has found is perhaps her soul speaking that we are all one and everyone has a story of survival, struggle, pain, and resilience regardless of the societal dogmas in place.
She lived with eyes wide open through all the cultures and strife in Europe and Africa in the last quarter of the1900’s. It was so important to her to meet people where they were and listen to their life story. War, conflict, poverty, race disparity, and survival were the moments in time that she engaged in to be touched by the human experience. What are the political differences in the dogma people follow that creates the presumptions of who people are?
