I really enjoy speaking with fellow Registered Dietitians on this podcast, and you’ll get some quality RD chat in today’s episode. Today, I'm sharing time with celebrity dietitian, nutrition therapist and author Kim Shapira. In her new book, What You’re Really Hungry For, Kim shares six simple rules that will help change your relationship with food, empowering you to be the authority of your own body.

In this episode, Kim and I discuss:

  • The role food plays in our lives, specifically that the food we eat can either make us sick or healthy.

  • Tips for sustainable and healthy weight loss, along with the signs that may indicate you have an unhealthy relationship with food.

  • The importance of breath as you try to regulate your nervous system and learn to let your body be in the moment.

  • Why eating what you love and what feels good to your body is key to a healthy life.

As a fellow RD, I appreciate Kim's passion for helping others find peace around food and her desire to help educate her patients that each individual body has different nutritional needs.
